If we go through cutoffs of last few years' then with this rank it is quite difficult to get Computer Science and Engineering in Vellore Institute of Technology, in Vellore campus. Because for Vellore campus, in 2015, the closing rank for the branch was 15000, but in 2016 the closing rank was 7000. The closing rank for CSE in other campuses are higher. You can expect VIT Chennai campus, the chances of getting CSE there are high, as the closing rank for CSE in 2015 was around 33000 and in 2016 it was around 14000.
