VIT chennai is a great campus for a student to join in.But sadly VITEEE this year still stands  cancelled . Every year VIT Chennai students intake is 8250 students.As you are opting  for CSE branch,there are 722 seats for cse students.Nearly , 90% of CSE students get placed in core companies every year.As, I can see u mentioned your rank is 12746 which means you  have scored marks between between 50-60.The VIT cut off totally depends on some of the factors which are-

level of difficulty , no. of candidates appeared for the exam , seats available for admission , previous years cut off trends.

As the institute does not release the cutoff ,its better to check previous years cutoff and get an idea about chances of admission.Candidates who score above closing rank will be considered for examination.One of the recent years closing ranks for CSE is 15000.

Basically cutoffs changes each and every year as it depends upon various factors and when it comes to VIT Entrance it is more complex as it never disclose any of their previous Cutoffs and all.

But in general it is said that if your rank is in between 4500-5000 then you can easily get CSE in Vellore campus and if is around 8000 then Chennai Campus.

So in your case you will have to go for Category 2 in which your annual fees will be increased.
