As you have not mentioned which entrance examination you have given, considering for engineering that is JEE mains and general category you have decent chances to get into top colleges like National institute of technology, IIITs and other private and deemed universities.

Dear student,
First of all you must mention the examination name that in which examination you have secured 24000 rank from your general category.
Now assuming that you have given jee mains exam, and secured 24000 rank from general category ( as you have mentioned in question), then yes there is a good chance that you can get Computer Science Engineering in many nits (as per seeing previous years cutoff trends) like :-
If you belong from home state quota then from your general category rank, you can get cse in :-

Nit Agartala
Nit silchar
Nit puducherry
Nit Srinagar
