Hello sir
I hope you are doing good . I would like to tell you that at this profile chances are very low to get NITs, but their are some colleges in which their are some chances at your profile to get a seat. Some of them are here in the following:-
1. Wellginkar institute of management mumbai
2. IMT hyderabad
3. Indian institute of information technology and management
4. BIMTECH grreater noida
Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future
My query was regarding whether my son is eligible for applying for MBA in NITs , that is not covered in your answer. If possible please let me know . Thanks

I am assuming that you belong to general category
I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but your son is not eligible for pursuing MBA from NIT with had 6.08 CGPA .
This is because,
To be eligible for mba in NIT your son should have got at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for OC/OBC/OC-EWS and 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST candidates.
Also,
It doesn't matter even your son's college follows conversion factor of 10 to convert CGPA into percentage as to avoid the very same condition of conversion , the criteria mentions it very clearly that the CGPA should be at least 6.5 or in case the result is in terms of percentage it should be at least 60% in case of general or OBC category.
Now, as the result of your son is in terms of CGPA i. e it is 6.02 which is less than 6.5 CGPA and thus he is not eligible for pursuing MBA from NIT
For example,
Eligibility criteria for mba in nit warangal is given below in the exact words of official website is given below :-
"A recognized university degree in any discipline.
2) Candidates should have 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for OC/OBC/OC-EWS and 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST candidates in the qualifying degree. For PWD candidates, the eligibility criterion will apply to the category they belong to (OC/OC-EWS/OBC/SC/ST).
3) The above mentioned CGPA/Percentage should be aggregate based on all semesters."
You can check the same at
http://nittmbaadmission.in/
Similarly, you can check NIT trichy criteria at
http://nittmbaadmission.in/
Thank you
Thanks for your clarification. But it appears percentage marks are kept less in comparison to CGPA marks in both the categories for OC (as 60% is equivalent to 6.5 CGPA) and also for SC/ST( as 55% is equivalent to 6.0 CGPA).
Thanks again.

In Silchar NIT it was 6.0 last year and now it is 6.5 for general candidate for admission in 2021-23 batch. What are the guidelines for raising the eligibility standard.
Please help with suitable comments.
Thanks.
