252/360 is a pretty good score. At this score, your son will get a percentile of around 99.86-99.88, which is a great percentile. At this percentile, he can  easily get a seat in top NITs like NIT Trichy, Warangal, Silchar and even colleges like DTU and NSIT. The rank he'll get will most likely be under 2000. Good luck.

Your son's performance is very good. I am sure that he is preparing for JEE Advanced. With this much score of 252 marks in JEE Mains he will get a rank of under five thousand in general category. He will get top NITs with a decent branch.
