According to the percentile, your son's rank is around 2,14,090.
To Calculate the rank ,formula is:
(100 - your total score) X 112697/100.
100 - your total percentile score is the percentage of people ahead of you. 112697 are the number of candidates appeared for January exam. If the number of candidates increase in April session then your son's rank will also change.
Now you haven't mentioned your son's category, but with this rank It is not possible to get admission in any of the NITs you have asked about. The cut-off for both NITs is very less.
For NIT Trichy, the cut-off for general category is around 2500 rank. And for NIT Calicut, the cut-off is around 1600. You can check the previous cut-offs in the link below:

Your son can appear in April session of JEE mains and score better to get Admissions. Also, you can use our College predictor to see the possibilities of admission:
Hope this helps!
First of all congratulations to your good jee percentile..
As far as last year's cutoff are concerned, as per your percentile you may get admission in nit Calicut in OBC quota and that too the percentage of getting is low... Well you need to have 99 above percentile for admission in nit trichy with OBC quota...
All the best
Hello,
Yeah, he would get a seat for sure if he clear advance also..!
But their are chances where he can get with percentage also...! It all depends on the cut off..
