ntse stage 1 exams was held on on the month of November this year.exams date can be different for different states. the eligibility criteria is Students who are studying in Class 10 from  any recognized school,  students under Open & Distance Learning education board  are also eligible to appear in Stage 1 of NTSE exam.

The National Talent Search Examination is held anually for school students to avail scholarships and other benefits. This examination, however, is exclusively held for students studying in class 10. So, your son will be eligible for NTSE when he is studying in class 10 which as, you mentioned, will be in the next academic year.
