Dear aspirant !

Hope you are doing well ! If he is confident and sure that after taking a break he can crack the entrance exam of bitsat then let him give the exam and give him a chance . Drop year has been proved beneficial for many students in the past . Taking a year drop doesn't mean it's the end of the road for you. It only means that you have taken an extra year to give a better chance to your career . Don't listen to people who tell you that dropping your year means you are risking your career.

Hope it helps you !

Thank you

There is advantages and disadvantages of taking a drop if your son determined to work hard and want to excel in life then he must consider dropping a year for BITSAT .also,he has to take all other top institutes entrance exam that no other year get wasted.

Diring this one year he needs to work hard and clear hos concepts as most of the questions asked directly from the NCERT books.

Hope this helps!!

Hello there,

If your son is in Class 12 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and wants to take a break to prepare for the BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test), it is definitely possible. Taking a gap year is a common approach for students who wish to focus on a specific exam like BITSAT and prepare better. Here are a few points to consider:

  1. Eligibility : To appear for BITSAT, students must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects, which your son already meets. Additionally, he must have scored at least 75% in the 12th exams with a minimum of 60% in each subject (depending on the year).

  2. Gap Year : BITSAT allows students to take a gap year after Class 12 if they wish to prepare specifically for this exam. It's important to make sure that the gap year doesn't impact the academic records negatively. As long as the gap year is used productively for exam preparation, it should not be a problem.

  3. Preparation Time : Given that BITSAT is a competitive exam, preparation requires focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with an emphasis on time management and speed. Students often use coaching materials, online resources, and previous years' papers for effective preparation.

  4. BITSAT Exam Pattern : The exam consists of 150 questions from Physics (40), Chemistry (40), Mathematics (40), and English (10), with a total duration of 3 hours. The questions test conceptual knowledge as well as speed and accuracy.

If your son is dedicated to preparing for BITSAT and taking a break from school, it would be a good idea to create a structured study plan and possibly consider enrolling in a coaching institute or utilizing online resources.

Be sure to also check BITSAT's official website for the exact eligibility criteria and application details when the exam registration begins.

Definitely your son can definitely take a break  for BITS as its eligibility is that your son must pass the 12th standard or equivalent with physics chemistry and PCM as course subject and he needs to score at least 60% in each subject. There is no age limit for BITS .Taking a break won't affect at all the factors eligibility as he has already completed his 12th and he only has to cross the minimum percentage. So your child should focus on the syllabus understand the syllabus of BITSAT AND practice regularly its questions join a coaching institute of possible and stay updated. BITSAT
