my son is just giving his 12 board.....till now he hasnt join any coaching for Jee preparation.... we have told him to do his preparation for jee this year without joining any college are we making a right decision ?? pls. guide

See, all those students who fail to crack JEE in the year they give their 12th or if they do not appear in that year due to any reason, almost 95% of those students take a drip and prepare for JEE and a very few percentage of students are there who take admission in any other and then prepare which is problematic and definitely not a good option because a students then has to deal with its college studies, semester etc and it will be difficult to prepare for JEE at the same time.
So, i would suggest you to let him take a drop and give him an entire year if preparation solely for JEE for a better result.
Now, coaching something what he should decide because lot of students prefer coaching whereas some do not like to go for coaching for their own reasons.You have online JEE classes too so there lots of options and you should ask your soon what suits him best and then choose accordingly and wisely.
