Yes, your son is eligible for JEE main 2022 & Jee advanced 2022 even if he is in 12th provided he is appearing for 12th board 2022 examination otherwise if he has just entered 12th and will be appearing for 12th board 2023 examination then he is not eligible for jee main & advanced 2022 but rather will be eligible for 2023 .

I would like to tell you that if your son is studying in class 12th, then he can apply for JEE mains, and then JEE advance, on the year when he will be completing his class 12th, i.e, in 2023. Then on the same year he will be eligible for JEE advance also. I would also like to tell you that every candidates are allowed to give JEE mains for 3 consecutive times and JEE advance for 2 consecutive times only.

So, with regard to your query, your son will be eligible to write the JEE Mains exam for this year itself, i.e. 2022. He will be able to write the exam, after completion of the board exams of 12th standard or before going to attempt the board exams.
As per the eligibility criteria of JEE Mains any student who is going to appear for 12th board exams or had appeared for 12th board exams is eligible to give the JEE Main exam. The students can appear exam for the three consecutive years. For the year 2022, the entrance exam is conducted two times that is in the month of April and May 2022.

Hope you are doing great. Any student who is passed the 12th or the exam that is equivalent can write the exam and also the same student can give JEE main exam for next three consecutive years too. And each year there will be two attempts for the exam. Therefore, your son can attempt the JEE exam in this year( the year which he is studying 12th) after giving the boards and also for the next three consecutive years too.
