my son is studying BE third year....is he now eligible for apply upsc preliminary exam?
Hello Sir/Mam,
As your son is currently in third year but the course he is pursuing i.e. BE is of 4 years duration so for now he cannot apply for UPSC CSE Prelims. but yes when he will get promoted to final year then he can appear for CSE Prelims. and after clearing it in Mains followed by an interview.
This is because as per the eligibility criteria of UPSC CSE,
>>>>>>> the candidate should have bachelor's degree from any of the recognized university.
>>>>>>> Candidates studying in final year of their graduation are also eligible to appear for UPSC CSE examination but their selection will be provision until they submit the marksheet of final semester/year.
>>>>>>> As per the age criteria the candidate should have crossed age of minimum 21 years on the August 1st of examination year but should not exceeded 32 years on the same date.
You can check out the detailed eligibility criteria for UPSC IAS from the link given below :-
