The University of Madras (UOM), Chennai was established in 1857 by an Act of the Legislative Council of India. It is a state university that is co-ed in nature. The total student enrollment in the university is more than forty-one thousand and the total number of faculty is more than 250 in number. Madras University has been approved by the UGC and has received ‘A’ grade from NAAC. As per the NIRF ranking for the year 2021, the varsity has been ranked 28th in the university category whereas it was ranked 22nd in the NIRF ranking 2020 for the university category. The University of Madras offers 165 courses and these are offered in 3 levels. The levels are diploma, PG, and post PG. The infrastructure is decent and the library has enormous number of academic as well as other books which is quite usefull in all aspects. The smart boards help us in taking seminars and make the clas more interactive.

Academics

The curriculum is updated frequently and covers all the recent topics. It is well structured which makes us job-ready. There will be many guest lecturers to talk about recent advances in this field which is useful.

Placements

The placements have been very good so far. Almost all the students get placed and are satisfied with their job. The lecturers take effort in bringing the companies to our campus and make our life easy.
