hi shejal gaonkar,
SNQ or Supernumerary quota is introduced by AICTE to allow students from the economically weaker sections of the society to gain admission in engineering colleges across India for reduced tuition fees.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR IT?
If you are a rank holder in any of the entrance examinations and your family income is less that Rs. 4.5 lakhs per year, you become automatically eligible for SNQ quota. Of course, the number of eligible candidate per candidate is limited to 5 percent of the total available seats.
How do I make sure I do not miss this?
The only thing you have to make sure is to produce an income certificate issued by a jurisdictional Tahasildar and submit it at the document verification stage of the examination.
