Souvik, getting admission in a college depends on several factors like whether you are from the home city or any other state, whether you are general case or falls under the reserved categories.

Here is the list you can refer and decide in which you may get a chance:

1. If you are from the home city and you are OBC-NCL there there is a pretty good chance that you will get in Jadavpur University in mechanical engineering. The closing rank is 61089.

2. If you are from the home city and you are ST caste  then you can get a chance in Heritage Institute of technology in ECE. The closing rank is 90460.

The closing rank for general caste in HIT for B.tech courses in Mechanical Engineering is 73899. For ST caste it is 66262. There if there is a good chance that you can get admission in HIT, Kolkata in Mechanical Engineering.

3. The closing rank for general category in Narula Institute of Technology in ECE is 333149 (for home state candidates). For other states candidates the closing rank is 261098 (general category).

For Mechanical Engineering the closing rank for home state candidates is 445480 (general category). For other state it is 174732 (general category).

4. Academy of Technology: For home state and general category the closing rank for ECE is 150548. For other state general category it is 98642. For mechanical Engineering, for home state candidates the clsoing rank is 298169 (general category). For other state candidates it is 296579  (general category).

5. Bengal Institute of Technology: For home state and general category the closing rank for ECE is 885801. For other state general category it is 698538. For mechanical Engineering, for home state candidates the clsoing rank is 1015010 (general category). For other state candidates it is 1043670 (general category).
