To be Eligible for giving any professional exam or aim for professional courses, it is important to be a graduate with B.Com.
B.COM- Bachelors in Commerce-
A course that most 12th Commerce stream students pursue after schooling as the level of academic difficulty associated with this course is Moderate and admission to this course is solely on the basis of your 12th board result.
FEE : The undergraduate degree is offered at a range of public and private colleges in India where some colleges also offer the option of selecting a subject to major in like Economics. The average fee charged in India varies from INR 20,000 to 35,000.
INSTITUTES OFFERING : Delhi University affiliated colleges where admission cut off is usually not less than 96%, such as , Sri Ram College, Lady Sri Ram College, Hindu College, Ramjas College, Gargi College, (New Delhi). Others include St Xavier's College (Kolkata), Loyola College, Chennai, Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics (Mumbai), Christ University (Bangalore),SRM University (Chennai), Amity International Business School (Noida), Loyola College (Tamil Nadu) etc.
When you say "Professional carrier options", then basically there are three major professional courses in commerce which can be pursued after 12th standard directly.
1. Professional courses are really tough and demand good seriousness, time dedication, commitment from the students for 4-5 years. CA, CS, CMA are the three main professional courses in commerce. They work mainly for auditing in the corporates, be it secretarial audit, cost audit, internal audit, earn good rewards wthin 5 years of experience and are hired by top MNC's.
A. CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY- involves expertise in company accountancy and taxation.
B. COMPANY SECRETARYSHIP- involves expertise in corporate laws but also includes accountancy and taxation as side areas of expertise.
C. COST ACCOUNTANT- involves expertise in cost and management accounting but taxation and company accounts is also required to be studied while pursuing the course.
These courses are not available in any college but are regulated by individual statutory bodies :
CA-Institute of Chartered Accountants of India CS- Institute of Company Secretaries of India CMA-Institute of Cost Accountants of India One has to register himself at these institutes online, and thereafter clear entrance, inter and final level along with training. It usually takes4-5 years to complete any one of these courses.
2. Banking, Investments, Equity Research Analyst, Financial Accounting & Auditing, Finance K.P.O are the forte for B.Com. Graduates and is the basic qualification required for students who want to pursue a career as CA / ICWA / CS or M.Com./MBA.
3. If interested to become a banking professional , Graduation is the present basic academic qualification for applying for a Bank Clerk or Probationary Officer. Some banks recruiting directly ask for MBA in Banking and Finance also. Institute of Bank Personnel Selection conducts all banking examinations.
