Hello Aspirant,
As you have completed your 12 with PCM and now you have to think for your career ahead.
Firstly, you have to think that has you enjoyed studing Science or not. If yes and want to just learn and gain some practical knowledge you must go for ENGINEERING for sure and it is beneficial in UPSC as in UPSC you have to chose a optional subject that is of your own choice and there is a separate paper conducted for it and in that engineers who are opting for UPSC can go for this. After completing engineering you can go for placements and get a job or after B.TECH you can either go for UPSC preparation.
But only three branches are there in the list of optional subjects in UPSC and it is as follows-
Now talking if you are passionate, determined and hard working and can dedicate 20 hours for this UPSC exam, you can go for graduation in the field that will help you in building for this exam as it can be your foundation and will boost your confidence. You can also prepare for this along with your graduation as it will be a less burden than to do it with engineering.
At last it totally depends on you what you dreamt of being and truly wants in your life.
HOPE IT HELPS.. ALL THE BEST !!
