The name of reaction in alcohols, phenols and ethers is Rosenmund Reaction : This reaction involves the reduction of acid halide to an aldehyde using hydrogen gas over palladium-on-carbon poisoned with barium sulphate. Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers Alcohols and Phenols Alcohols and phenols are formed when a hydrogen atom in hydrocarbon, aliphatic and aromatic respectively, is replaced by hydroxyl group (-OR group).
