Hey!!

Internal buds formed due to freshwater sponges are also known as gemmules. These are kind of a reproductive organ it gives rise to one demospongia organism and helps in its survival. It is a multicellular, marine living species of a Poriferra {Phylum} kingdom.

The internal buds in sponges are called as gemmules .
Gemmules can be defined as internal buds in sponges which are involved in asexual reproduction. Gemmules are asexually reproduced mass of cells, which are capable of developing into a new organism , that is , an adult sponge.
