Here NC refers to non creamy layer of OBC category
OBC Candidates having family income less than 8 lakh is considered in non creamy layer. They are eligible for the benefit of scholarship in competitive exams
OBC candidates having family income more than 8 lakh is considered in creamy layer. They do not get benefit of scholarship in competitive exams

NC Category means Non- creamy , it is used when the income of the family is less than 8 lakh rupees per annum , OBC Non creamy layer category gets extra benefits like reservation in government jobs and colleges as well as fee reduction .It is used to find out the poorer sections of the society so that they get proper government support during jobs and admission .
Some other famous abbreviations used are :
UR :Unreserved (General)
EWS: Economically Weaker Section
NC/NCL :Non Creamy layer
ST- Scheduled Tribe
SC : Scheduled Caste
PWD- Person with disability
