Thapar is one of the best engineering colleges in India. Placements in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology are amazing. Even below average students can get handsome salary packages. Also, more than 95% students get placed every year.

Average package in year 2016 was around 6 lac and 70% of students were placed till dec 2016 and remaining got placed last semester. Apart from core companies students were placed in IT companies and Consulting firms.

Most of the Computers and Electronics students get placed from thapar. Till today(24/11/2017) 96 out of 210 ECE students are placed and still some companies will come in next semester. Also 100+ students of ECE got internship/placement. Consultancies prefer ECE students over other branches. Some ECE students also manage to get placement in coding companies but they are few.

So the placements are average , but gives you a decent start.

In all Thapar univeristy is good for pursuing engineering, but it is called as Sunking titanic by many passs outs of thapar because at one time it was one best college but now it has become mediocre and quality of students is detioriating.

Eventhough alot depends on hardwork of the student.

But i will suggest you to try into some other better college if not then thapar would not be too bad choice.
