In the Indian Navy recruitment process, there is no interview. The final merit list for the Indian Navy SSR AA is compiled using the marks obtained in the written test, as well as qualifying physical and medical requirements as verified by Indian Navy personnel.
The selection criteria is as follows
AA-Recruits are chosen in an all-India order of merit based on their performance in a computer-based examination, subject to passing a qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and medical examinations.
SSR-Recruitment is based on state-by-state merit of their performance in computer-based examinations, subject to passing a qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and medical exam.
Only those who pass the preliminary medical examination for recruiting will be regarded "provisionally fit" until they pass the final medical examination. All chosen candidates will undergo a final enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka. Candidates who pass the Final Enrolment Medical Examination and are deemed to be medically fit will be enrolled.
