NIT Calicut is better placements and teaching record in all the courses, but if you're asking for mechanical engineering, here are the details: 

Last year, about 490 students got placed out of 686 students who appeared for placements. In mechanical branch, 80 out of 112 students got placed with a maximum package 14.5 lacs per annum and the minimum package 3.4 lacs per annum, and the average package offered is 6.8 lacs per annum. About 71% of the students from mechanical branch got placed.

This time placements were better than previous as mechanical branch has been accredited A+ for the next 10 years.
