Hello,
NITW is a much better and more established institute than NIT AP, which was very recently conceived, after the partition of Telangana and Andhra. NIT AP does not hold the same weight in placement statistics owing to its nascent faculty and curriculum and also due to its remote location. This is applicable to CSE as well.
Chemical Engineering is a core branch, and if you have even an inkling of interest, it can take you to amazing places in future, especially abroad where the scope in huge. NITW Chem Engg is one of the top branches in the college, and the placement statistics are really commendable even when compared to CSE or ECE. Remember, companies like ITC, HPCL, BPCL etc., specifically visit the campus for core branches and even the pay is quite hefty.
Also, just being a Chem Engg student doesn’t imply you cannot sit for IT companies. If your zone of interest lies is coding or software, you will get ample of time in your four years to hone your coding skills and apply in IT companies, though I wouldn’t insist on making this your goal as it might cause you to slip up in your own branch.
The choice is eventually yours to make, however, I must state again that NIT AP doesn’t hold any weight when compared to NITW.
Good luck!
