I would recommend you to go with SVNIT.

As for Chemical Engineering, the average minimum, maximum were observed to be 6.55l.p.a, 3.24 l.p.a., 19 p.a respectively.

And in terms of percentage, about 80% of students get placed on an average year (based on last 4 years data).

As the institute Rankings are higher so the companies don't hesitate much while recruiting students and the placement process is steady and smooth, but when the same rankings are down, then the candidate needs to prove himself and companies don't recruit students as smoothly as if they were taking, when the rankings of the Institute were higher.

Though placements depend on various factors such as the branch of the candidate, rankings of the Institute and the potential of the batch.

Hello..

It may sound cliched but first of all you should give preference to your interest.

Now talking about the branches according to me chemical engineering is better. The placements here are also good and almost all the students are placed, in good companies like Cairn, basf etc
