Nit surat m.tech Mechanical is good as far as placement concerned?

Well the term good is subjective as to how good depends on person to person,also before coming to the statistics for mtech mechanical for svnit i would like to mention that placement completely dependent on indivisual,if you are skilled talented and have worked hard you will definitely land somewhere good and if you are not even being from iit wont help.
Now coming to NIT surat for mec mtech its average to decent,last year from a total of 17 students 17 were eligible for placements and 10 were placed , average package for the batch was 4.25 lacs per annum and highest was 6 lacs.

I am confuse in this beacuse i have to choose between bits Pilani M.E design but it is very costly so if there are opportunities in core job in svnit than i think it's worth doing hardwork.
