For good college, Gate exam is a must.
So you need to qualify it to get good colleges.
There is no other standard exam to get a good college other than GATE.

GATE is a prerequisite for most of the government colleges if you wish to apply for a Master's degree in computer science and engineering or any other branch. You must look for the private colleges and contact them, for most of the private GATE qualification as not an eligibility criteria and they will only consider your bachelor's degree grades.
