The Department of Physics in the Andhra University has grown into one of the biggest departments in the university offering Physics courses not only in the University campus but also in about 10 affiliated colleges. The department had started with a three-year B.Sc (Hons.) degree course in Physics with an intake of six students. The Department of Physics has 7 faculty members with over 160 students besides a large number of research scholars and supporting staff.
No of seats available are as follows:
M.Sc. Physics -
50 seats on regular basis + 18 seats on self- financed basis = total 68 seats.
M.Sc. Space Physics -
5 seats on regular basis + 5 seats on All India basis = total of 10 seats.
M.Sc. Nuclear Physics -
28 seats on regular basis + 6 seats on self-financed basis = 34 seats in total.
Minimum eligibility for admission will be B.Sc Physics (as main wherever applicable), Mathematics and any other subject.
Duration of the course will be two years.
Admission to M.Sc will be based on the rank obtained in the Andhra University Common Entrance Test (AUCET) Entrance Examination.
Andhra University Common Entrance Test (AUCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. It is conducted for admission to post-graduate courses offered by the colleges affiliated with Andhra Univerisity and Dr BR Ambedkar University, Srikakulam. AUCET 2019 will be held in the first week of May.
AUCET 2019 will be conducted in paper pen mode.
The question paper will consist of 100 objective type questions to be attempted in 90 minutes.
AUCET 2019 result will be declared in the third week of May.
The minimum pass percentage for general category candidates is 50%.
