Hey there!
The JEE Mains paper 1 (B.E/ B.TECH) consists of two section. Section A and Section B
SECTION A consists of Multiple choice question of subject Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 20 questions for each subject with +4 marks on correct answer and -1 on incorrect answer, where students can attempt all the questions i.e. 60 questions can be attempted.
SECTION B consists of Numerical value of same subjects as in section A with 10 questions for each subject with +4 marks on correct answer and -1 marks on incorrect one, however number of questions can be attempted is 5 questions for each subject which means, in total 15 questions can be attempted out of 30.
Hence combining section A and section B, 75 questions can be attempted out of 90.
However it is totally depends on the candidate that how many question he/she is able to attempt out of that 75 question, if the individual has gone through the syllabus very well it is easy for them to attempt most of the questions out of it.
I hope this info will help you!
Hi there.
If you want to score around 100 marks, think about attempting 30-35 questions. For instance, if you attempt 35 questions and 5 of them are incorrect, your score will be (30*4)-5=115 which is decent, you will qualify for advanced, and depending on the difficulty and the number of students, you may get a percentile close to 88 if you have prepared exceptionally. But so far you can even attempt all the questions and aim at 200 + if you feel confident about it.
Hello
The number of questions a Student answers in jee mains depends upon the level of preparation. If he's able to catch the question and is able to solve the questions quickly then he can complete the entire paper within the provided time. Whereas, if someone has not prepared well enough then he'll be stuck at a question and will consume a lot of time because of which he will not be able to complete the exam in the provided time.
Therefore, it completely depends upon the level of preparation done by a student.
I hope this answer helps you.
All the best.
