Hi Manish,

very well as you have enough time to start preparing for the big day and come out with fyling colors.

Now to start preparing for NDA exam without any coaching you need to keep some points clear in your mind. So we will break down the entire process, right from written exam to SSBs.

UPSC’s NDA Written Exam Strategy :

Time - 6 months

This is your own strategy, everyone has its own favorite subjects, time, pace. Figure it out. try and work on your week points and polish your strengths.

You have ample time to prepare for the interview but first of all what is required is to clear the written exam.

For preparation of the interview keep the below mentioned points in mind and it will be a cakewalk for you.

  • Just make your Maths part strong. It will help a lot because minimum 50% questions are from Class 11.
  • Read newspapers daily, current affairs would help you a lot.
  • Start practising speaking fluent English, doesn't matter how weak you are. You can improve within 2 years for sure.
  • Prepare speeches on random topics and speak out in front of your friends. If you feel shy to speak in English in front of them then deliver in Hindi (it improves your public speaking). This will help you in developing confidence.
  • Don't go about speaking in front of a large crowd. If you fail to deliver (I hope it doesn't happen), then you may develop a lack of confidence on yourself and it will be a major setback.
  • Start speaking in front of a small group of 5-10 people. Then gradually go on increasing the audience.
  • If you are a bulky guy, do a little bit of exercise daily. Don't hit the gym. You are not required to have a body.
  • Don't think about the interviews so early. You will get a 2 months time after you clear the UPSC. Those 2 months are enough.
  • Don't bottle up your academic career to prepare for NDA. You have a lot of chances for NDA but not for your academics. So study well for your academics first.
  • At last, be confident. Don't be over confident. Because over confidence is a major factor in the rejection of candidates almost every time.
