As you are trying for government colleges through the counselling and have a back plan, this is really a good thought process. As mentioned, your backup plan is to get admission in Chitkara University which is a private ownership university. The thing is the admission there could be quiet tedious in the month of August and completely depends on the college management and higher authorities to give you admission at that stage. But the actual thing is due to lack of fulfilling of seats, most colleges do provides seats for better strength. So it only depends on the strength of the branch in which you want to take admission.
