One can join Indian army after completing their school as well as after completing their graduation. After graduation one should give exam of CDS to join Indian army .

CDS stands for combined defence services. It is same just like NDA. It is also conducted twice in a year - February and September by UPSC. One can go in Indian military academy (IMA), officers training academy (OTA) ,Indian Air Force Academy (IAFA) and INA ( Indian Naval academy) after passing CDS. After qualifying one will have to undergo training period. One will get stipend during training and after selection a handsome salary is provides which increases according to promotion.

Eligibility criteria for CDS is following:

Candidates must have completed their graduation.

Candidates must be between age of 20-24 .

Candidates who are going to apply for Air Force must have physics and mathematics at their 10+2 level.

Candidates applying for Indian Naval Academy must have an engineering degree .

The Engineer Graduate will be selected through the service selection board under the given schemes.

Technical graduate course(men) :-

SSB:Direct Interview and no written test

Age:20-27

Notification :Twice in a year (Mar/Apr & Sep/Oct)

University entry scheme(men) :-

UES Entry scheme is a special entry for engineering graduates who are in their Pre-final year of Engineering.

This will suits youb, as you are in third year.

SSB:Direct Interview and no written test

AGE:18-24

Notification :Jun/Jul

Short service commission technical entry(men and women) :-

The SSC tech entry gives an opportunity to both men and women to serve in the Indian Army after completing their graduation

Notification :Jun/Jul & Dec/Jan

Age:20-27

SSB :Direct Interview and no written test

SSB interview contains It consists of Officer Intelligence Rating (PP & DT) at stage1, then pyschological test, followed by GTO and personal interview.

Hi aspirant, since you want to join Indian Army so as if you are in 3rd year than let me tell you that for that you have to give one exam named as CDS(Combined Defense Services) which you will be eligible in your final year or else if you are interested in any of the other wing of defense services than you can also give AFCAT exam for Indian Airforce.
