3 year diploma in Engineering ,which is approved by either AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education is equivalent to 10 + 2 in order to be eligible for JEE main as per the list of equivalent examinations on the page number 11th of Information Bulletin released by NTA ,the link to download it is provided below:-

So, I am guessing that you mean 3 your diploma in Engineering approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education
I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but you are not eligible for JEE main 2022.
This is because,
Your diploma in Engineering is a 3 year course, and right now in 2021 you are in 2nd semester of 1st year so in 2022 you will be in 2nd year only and thus, not eligible for JEE main 2022 as to be eligible you should have either completed your diploma or should be appearing for final semester examination. You will be in your final semester in 2023 so you will be eligible for JEE main 2023.
JEE main eligibility criteria is provided below :-
Eligibility criteria says that:-
-) Qualification required :- to be eligible for JEE mains for BE or Btech you need 10+2/equivalent qualification with Physics, mathematics and anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.
-) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible for JEE mains 2022 you should be either appearing for 12th /equivalent exam or equivalent in 2022 or should have passed it in 2021 or 2020
-) There is no age limit to be eligible
-) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Mains, you just need to have passed your 12th/ equivalent.

Diploma in Engineering is a course based on class 10th but there are people who go for it after class twelfth also.

Age Criteria
There is no prescribed age criterion for taking JEE Main.
Academic Criteria
- The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent qualifying exam in the year 2020 or 2021. Those who will be appearing in the year 2022 are also eligible.
- The students who appeared in the 10+2 exam in the year 2016 but were not able to pass and later on cleared the same in the year 2019 are not eligible to apply.
- The applicants must have passed the qualifying exam with minimum 5 subjects: Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject.
- The candidate appearing in six subjects, the subject (fifth/sixth) with better marks will be considered.
Number of Attempts
- There is no restricted number of attempts for JEE Main.
Eligibility for Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating through Seat Allocation Board
The applicants who have passed the class 12 th exam with at least 75% marks or be in top 20% of their respective boards with subject combination as follows are eligible:

Eligibility for Admission to Other Institutions
The criteria mentioned above can be followed by other institution participating through JoSAA/ CSAB. To offer admissions in the colleges affiliated to state universities, the state can make the rank list as per their own criteria.
Note: For admissions to institutes in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha, the age limit and number of attempts will be as their past practice (when they conducted state-level exam). This is not applicable to IITs/ NITs/ IIITs/ CFTIs.

Yes, you can write JEE in 2022.
As you said,you are in 2nd semester of your diploma. I am considering that you have completed your 12th in 2020.
