You haven't mentioned the name of the college but yes in general admission in Engineering College of UP is the basis of its own state level entrance examination called UPSEE i. e Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination

But,

From this year UPSEE  entrance examination has been scrapped off and now admission in engineering colleges accepting UPSEE will be on the basis of jee main so you need to appear for JEE main examination .

So, you need to appear for jee main

Now,

In order to appear for jee main you need to be eligible for it

JEE main eligibility criteria is provided below :-

Eligibility criteria says that:-

-) Qualification required :- to be eligible  for JEE mains  for BE or Btech you need 10+2/equivalent qualification with Physics,  mathematics and anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.

-) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible  for JEE mains 2021 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019

-) There is no age limit to be eligible

-) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Mains, you just need to have passed your 12th

But yes,

To be eligible for  NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category or or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category. For this year i. e 2021 this minimum percentage requirement of 75% - 65 % has been lifted off.

Admission to B.E/B.Tech in the institutes of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier the admission  to B.E/B.Tech was based on Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE) but it had been scrapped off from the year 2021. Now the admission will be based on merit in JEE Main entrance examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). So you need to appear for JEE Main and qualify in it. The eligibility criteria to appear for JEE Main is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board. JEE Main 2021 is conducted in four session in February, March, April and May. JEE Main February and March session was already concluded. JEE Main April session has been postponed. As of now JEE Main May session registrations are ongoing. The last date to apply is May 12, 2021. The exam is schedules from May 24, 2020 to May 28, 2021.
