With more than 11000 Multiple Choice questions, it has previous years questions of CLAT as well as other law entrance examinations. Not just that, it even has mock test papers. This is your one step solution for law entrance examination preparation. With so many questions to brush up your knowledge, it also includes the whole syllabus of CLAT and other law entrance examinations. From General Knowledge, to Legal Aptitude, to Logical Reasoning, even English! Everything is there in this book. You wouldn't have to touch other books if you follow this one. Other than that, you can also refer Lakshmikant's Indian Polity and NCERT textbooks of History, Geography, and Political Science for basic preparation. Make a habit of reading newspaper daily, for this purpose, "The Hindu" is highly recommended. You may also follow Yojana Magazines for current affairs. Keep a watch on news, using social media and Television to be successfully updated with current affairs. P.S : Reading would increase your vocabulary. For budding lawyers, "10 judgements that changed India" by Zia Mody and "Legal Eagles" by Indu Bhan are great books. They are not specified for CLAT preparation but will help you a lot in your journey of becoming an advocate. Hope this helps.
Hey Meher.
You can start preparing for the Current affairs, GK Section, English from now on as it is very vast and would take time to increase your knowledge span. You can start the other sections now or even later too according to your convenience and schedule.
GK - For static you can refer to the Concised size Pearson or the Arihant’s guide.
For current affairs, first of all develop a habit to read newspapers daily. The Hindu is the newspaper preferred by various CLAT Aspirants.
There is a site called GK today.in which you can go to for current affairs. They have daily quizes based on current affairs which has been proved very usefull for CLAT preparation.
English - For Vocabulary you can refer the Word Power Made Easy. You will come across various words while reading the newspaper too, prepare a list, go through them regularly and try to use them in sentences. You should read the Editorial section of the Hindu for your Reading as well as Vocabulary section of CLAT.
For grammar you can use the Wren & Martin.
Mathematics - For Quantitative aptitude by RS Aggarwal. Other than that previous year question papers and Arihant/ Universal guide migh help too.
Legal Aptitude - Universal’s guide to CLAT and LLB, Pearson CLAT Guide are considered the best.
Logical Reasoning - RS Aggarwal
Make sure that you go through the past year question papers and practice them along with sample papers.
If you are planning to take any coaching in institutes like Career launcher, Bulls eye etc then their reading material covers all aspects. You can refer the books listed above in case you need separate books for any or all the sections. Other than that you can use Universal's guide to CLAT and LLB for practicing all the sections of the syllabus together.
