As you are first year of master's degree you have one full year to prepare for being a geologist in gsi(geological survey of India) because we can give it after pursuing the master's degree. So you can prepare for it.
Here are some of the books you can refer for the preparation...
Applied geophysics, Pharmaceutical chemistry-1, Concepts and application in environmental geochemistry, Military aspects of hydrology, Geochemistry an introduction, Indian and world geography.
