ok i understand mam but which is the best entrance book for microbiology entrance exam mam
Hello Aspirant!
It actually depends on the college or institute taking the test. If the syllabus for the entrance test clearly states that questions will be asked on microbiology only, then its easy and you can refer to the following books for a strong basic knowledge:
- Prescott’s Microbiology
- Brock Biology of Microorganisms
- Microbial Genetics by Stanley R. Malloy
- Food Microbiology by Bibek Das
- Industrial Microbiology by A Patel
- Medical Microbiology by David Greenwood
But, my friend, it is highly unlikely that questions will be asked only from microbiology. If you are a Microbiology undergraduate, then you should know that the BSc Microbiology syllabus encompasses other parts such as Genetics, Biochemistry, Biophysical Calculations, Enzymology, Immunology and other subtopics.
So, in order to get a complete grasp of undergraduate biology, you should prefer the following books:
- Biochemical Calculations by Irwin H Segel
- Enzymes by Trevor and Palmer
- Biochemistry by Lehninger/ Voet and Voet
- Concepts of Genetics by Klug and Cummings
- Molecular Biology of the Gene by James D. Watson
- Gene VII/ Gene VIII/ Gene XI
- Kuby’s Immunology
- The Cell by Bruce Alberts
- Physical Biochemistry by David Friefelder
