See , NCERTs books are very very important for jee preparation but it is not enough.sometimes questions are directly asked from ncert, so it is very important. But if you want to score good in jee mains ,then you have to look beyond ncert.
Hope it helps .
Good luck.
But often these books are taken for granted by the students .Every students go for the books which are actually either written for B.Sc. or they just go for the books like Arihant or Cengage.
But the JEE mains syllabus is based on the NCERT syllabus. So at first students should go through the NCERT books first.
Some times even questions are asked directly from NCERT books.
But for Mathematics NCERT has relatively lesser importance.
But for physics and chemistry PLEASE go through NCERT first before grabbing IRODOV or S.N.Sanyal

Hello aspirant.
Joint entrance is based on the syllabus of both 11th and 12th ncert books.
But in addition to that you will need to refer some external books too to score good in JEE. Those books are based on NCERT itself but little elaborated and High order questions. For example- HC Verma books for concepts of physics volume 1 and 2, Arihant publication books etc.
All the best
