According to your question their might be many reasons which makes both teams fields successful. It is all based on your interest. Bsc is 3 year course whereas engineering is 4 years course. If you see scope wise then obviously if you get reputed government or private deemed colleges then you must do engineering in good branch . Bsc is also good and if you are interested in study and research related field then opt for bsc. An engineer always get better placements then a Bsc aspirant. Hope you find it useful.

I think your question is itself a reason in support of your answer, if you have any kind of interest in B. Tech,  you would have never asked this question.

You should not pursue a course just being influenced by the thoughts of someone else,  if your interest lies in technology and related work,  you should opt for B. Tech ,  if you have interest in Science and research,  opt for B. Sc.

B. Sc is a 3 year programme and B. Tech is a 4 year course,  if you apply for B. Sc from a good university like DU,  you have good chances of clearing Government exams like UPSC and SSC.

For clearing competitions,  you should opt for B. Sc,  for getting campus placement and direct job,  opt for B. Tech.
