First of all I would like to tell that the Optometry is the study of the eye, its related structures and the ways to diagnose and treat them. An Optometrist works with the general public and carries out eye examinations, treats specific eye conditions in the clinic or hospital and also carries out essential research in a university. People with the right education and skills have job scope all over the world and there is also tremendous scope for them to start their own business in eye care.
Bachelor’s degree course in optometry at the Indian private universities, the student may have to pay a fee of about 2.5 to 4 Lakh per year. The fee for the diploma course is between 2 and 2.5 lakh per annum. For a Master’s degree, the college fee is 4 Lakh to 6 lakhs per year. The fee is substantially low in government colleges and the fee is in a few thousand. Apart from the course fee, the students studying in private colleges will be taken for internship programs during the course of their study and may have to pay a small fee for the hospital in which they take up the training.
The Duration of this course is generally ranges between the 1-4 years in different institutions. The duration may be different in different institutions according to their rules and regulations.
