I won't say that it's enough but yes it is enough to score a good score in JEE MAINS at least.
So try to get some extra knowledge with reactions given in ncert
Hope this helps
Respected sir,
In order to get a good score in jee main, you need to cover all the topics and all the concepts. So all the chapters are equally important. But yes there are some concepts you should never ignore.
Oxygen containing compounds.Specially name reactions in oxygen containing compounds.Sometimes direct questions also come from these reactions.
Nitrogen containing compounds
Isomerism
Substitution reactions in aromatic compounds
Tests for the detection of the organic compounds
So these are very important. But again I remind you that all the concepts should be covered.Never leave anything before going to exam.
I believe NCERT is good for a start, but for making your Orchem strong, I'd say go for a better book like L. G. Wade.
All the best!
In my opinion if you are aiming to score 60-65 marks in chemistry section in jee mains then i think preparing from ncert books is enough. But if you want to score more then you habe to follow good books like op tondon for organic chemistry as sometimes the questions can be difficult from this topic.
Solve each and every question of ncert before solving other books as this will make tour concepts clear.
Good luck.
