Hi, for sports quota the participates who get a position like 1st, 2nd or 3rd are prefered over the ones who only participated. But you still stand a chance because they (the university) will test you in the field too. There is no harm in trying the sports quota if you are selected through the first round you will have field trial. I hope this helped.
