A public agricultural university is called Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV).

Two undergraduate programmes (B.Tech. and B.Sc.) with a focus on agriculture and horticulture are offered by the college. It also provides PhD programmes in over 19 disciplines, two postgraduate programmes (M.Tech & M.Sc. Through the WBJEE, undergraduate students are accepted. Students get admitted to the B.Sc. programmes based on their 10+2 grade point average. WBUT-PGET is the foundation for admission to the master's programmes.

Eligibilty criteria to get PG in this college -

Passed the 4-year degree examination in the relevant field with a 6.60 grade point for students in the general category and a 5.60 grade point for students in the reserved category. In the 10+2 exams, they ought to have received at least 50% of the possible points.
