Hello,

There are two papers of JEE main, the pattern for paper 1 and paper 2 Is different.

The exam pattern for JEE main paper 1 is (for BE/BTech):

The exam mode is Computer based examination, the duration of the exam is of 3 hours, the exam is held in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malyalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and urdu Languages, there will be multiple choice questions in the exam and questions with numerical value as answers, the question paper is divided into three sections, ie. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
There are 25 questions from mathematics, 10 questions with answers as a numerical value, out of 10 questions, 5 questions are compulsory.


There are 25 questions from physics, 10 questions with answers as a numerical value, out of 10 questions, 5 questions are compulsory.


There are 25 questions from Chemistry, 10 questions with answers a numerical value, out of 10 question 5 are compulsory.


The total number of questions are 75, where 25 questions are from each section.

The total marks of the question paper are 300, where each section is of 100 marks.

Marking scheme is as follows:

For each correct answer four marks will be awarded, and for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted.

For numerical value answer, there will be no negative marking, and for each correct answer four marks will be awarded.

Hello,

The authorities will also release the exam pattern of JEE Main 2022 to allow candidates to understand the pattern of the paper in advance, previous year, the NTA introduced some major changes in the JEE exam pattern.

  • The Paper -1 (Engineering) consists of 90 (need to answer 75 questions) .
  • Each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 numerical ques out of which 5 is must.
  • Subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
  • The 20 Objective questions will have 4 options each with only 1 correct option.
  • 10 Numerical questions out of which 5 needs to be answered.

  • For MCQs - 4 Marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 Mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

  • For answer with a numeric value - 4 Marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 0 Mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
