Hello, Arya. The KVPY Fellowships are given to Indian Nationals to Study in India. In this exam a candidate will be categorized among any one of the 3 streams: SA, SB, SX.
- If you are in 12 th standard and have PCB, you will be categorized into SX stream. For SX stream , questions from 10 th (few), 11 th and 12 th standard will be asked. It is important to note that, for both SB/SX streams, 120 questions will be asked, out of which only 80 questions of 100 marks are supposed to be answered. That means, a candidate can skip any one subject among Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
- However, if you are in 11 th Standard now, then you cannot write KVPY if you do not have mathematics as your subject. You will come under SA and for SA stream , all the questions are mandatory to attempt while weightage of Mathematics in overall question paper is 25%.
