Hi

With just 12th PCMB you cannot appear in UPSC civil services examination.

This is because,

To be eligible you need a graduate   degree

So after your 12th  you need to pursue graduation like BA, Bsc, Btech or any  graduation course in any discipline from a recognised university to be eligible.

For reference, UPSC eligibility  criteria is provided below:-

------------------------) You  must  have  a bachelor's  degree in any discipline   from a  recognised university   . Those in final year of bachelor's degree are also provisionally eligible.

------------------------)  Minimum  age  limit :-  you  need to  be at least  21  years  old   to be  eligible as on 1st of August of the year of filling the form

------------------------)  Maximum  age  limit :-  32 years , also there's 3  year  relaxation on upper age limit for  obc and of  5 years  for sc/st category as on 1st August of the year of examination


------------------------) Attempt limit:- The maximum of times one can appear in UPSC is given below category wise :-


  • General/ EWS - 6

  • OBC or  General PwD - 9

  • SC/ ST - No limit ,   can appear till upper age limit .

You should be citizen of India

Or should be citizen of

-----) Nepal

-----) Bhutan

-----) or you need to be a  Tibetan refugee, who came before 1st January  1962 to permanently settle here in India

or you should be Indian origin person  migrated to permanently settle in India from :

-----)Sri Lanka

-----) Kenya

-----) Tanzania

-----)Malawi

-----)Zambia

-----)Zaire

-----)Ethiopia

-----)Vietnam.



Your UPSC civil services examination consists of three stages:-

1. Prelims

2. Mains

3.Interview

Coming to what what subjects, you will have to study then,

You need to study the subjects in the UPSC syllabus like history, polity, geography etc.

>>The eligibility criteria for appearing in UPSC exam is that candidates must have passed minimum 3 years Bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognised College or University.

UPSC CSE is conducted in 3 stages:

Prelims exam : Objective paper

Mains exam : Descriptive /Written exam

Personal Interview : Personality Test
