PGDM OR MBA? Which one is better?

Post Graduate Diploma in Management is AICTE (All India Council of Technical Studies) approved program with a duration of 2 years. Approximately 500 institutions are approved to offer PGDM in India by AICTE. These approved institutions design their own curriculum, upgrade it as and when required, conduct their own examinations and evaluate their own students. Generally, curricula are designed keeping in view the industry demand, so that students can be placed well.
MBA or Master in Business Administration is a UGC approved post-graduation degree program which can be offered by Universities. The course duration is two years. Most of the universities affiliate colleges and permit them to teach the MBA course. This makes the course irrelevant and redundant when we talk on the placements. Students generally get low salaries as compared to their counterparts in PGDM.

MBA, short for Master of Business Administration, is a Post Graduate Degree in Management. ... PGDM is a course offered by colleges that are not affiliated with recognized universities or are not authorized to offer degrees. And therefore they offer Diploma courses which in a broader view come at the same level as an MBA.
To be eligible for admission to the PGDM Program(s), the participants must possess a bachelor’s equivalent degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in any discipline, from a recognized university in India or abroad (recognized by the UGC / Association of Indian Universities). However, the final selection may be based on a higher cut-off percentage depending on the total number of applicants for the program.
MBA is a Master’s degree and only recognized universities or colleges affiliated with such universities are allowed to offer a degree in Business Administration. Such universities follow one single curriculum designed for the course and offer other major degrees like bachelor and Doctorate.
