Even though both psychology and psychiatry are courses that deal with the behavior of the human mind, as professions, these two are very different.
One of the easiest ways to distinguish between the two is to remember that psychiatrists are trained medical doctors and are allowed to prescribe medicines. Psychologists, on the other hand, use psychotherapy and behavioral intervention to alleviate the mental and emotional turmoil that a patient is going through.
To become a psychiatrist you need to give NEET. To pursue psychiatry, you need to pursue MBBS, and then specialize in psychiatry.
But for Psychologist don't need of NEET. You can pursue undergraduate courses like B.A (H) In Psychology. You need to have a HSC (or equivalent) to pursue a Bachelor's degree in psychology.
Specialization at the postgraduate level, where one can get an M.A. or M.Sc. in either Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling Further specialization at the doctoral level is available as well via PhD or M.Phil
Psychology is a highly rewarding and lucrative field of study.
Hope it helps.
