As per your query, there are a total of 22 government medical colleges and 2265 seats in them all. There are private and minority institutes too which has in all around 2200 seats. Coming to the reservation criteria in UP, there is both vertical and horizontal reservation. In vertical reservation,

  • SC - 21%
  • ST- 2%
  • OBC - 27%

In horizontal reservation,

  • Freedom fighters - 2%
  • Physically disabled - 5%
  • Ex-servicemen - 2%
  • NCC - 1%
  • Women candidates - 20%

The state NEET counselling is conducted by Directorate General of Medical Education and Training to fill the 85% of the seats in government colleges and all the seats in private institutions.
