Hi,
Yes, there are opportunities of placement in private institutes and universities. But, if you have passed your M.Sc. from a government institute, chances are pretty low. You would probably need to look for a job by yourself. upload CVs on Naukri, Indeed and other job portals. kindly register at the pharma industries you are interested in like Biocon, Syngene, Thermofischer etc. They will send you newsletters and information about their job openings in your mailbox when there is a vacancy.
If any of your professors have good contacts, they may help as well in securing a project in some lab. For industry, You may enroll into the course DBT provides for training Biotech professionals for industry. This would help you score a job with relative ease.
>If you want to go into research , or even teaching go for CSIR NET or any national level JRF exam and do PhD, if you are really keen in this subject and deeply study it, it will help you getting good package and again it may take around 3–4 yrs after MSc
> If you directly want to do a job, one can go in various biotech fields quality analyst , patent analyst, or claim analyst which what i found locally of my field in north region, if you are ready to relocate than in south, Bangalore ,or Ahmedabad, one can find research analyst job in good companies, ( though it’s difficult) most big companies take only experienced one and the salary package in any job would be starting from 10–25k during training , not more than this .there is a exam BCIL DBT which also provides good company training
> Acquire another degree , if you don’t want to go into research or biotechnology and want handsome salary too , do MBA (mf you want to work into corporate management and leadership , Law , (can do law or become patent officer or lawyer) , since biotech is not eligible for BEd.
> one can also prepare for govt. job seeing the reality of biotech field if you want to settle early in India , go for SSC, Banking PO or UPSC or other exams is good option too.
> Govt. project associates , I would say yes there are vacancy but it’s very very difficult to get those project , until you are extra ordinary or jack, good for experience but for income point of view , not good enough for longer run
> Last but not the least one can work in different field too, many of my friends , go into , online teaching, Consultancy , Marketing and other sector job , which obviously difficult too, or there are better scopes in foreign countries such a Germany , Canada etc.
Hope this helps.
All the best.
