PLEASE ANSWER THIS !! My domicile is of West Bengal (i.e. state of eligibility ) but my ST certificate is of JHARKHAND i.e. my native place. so would i get Home state quota at west Bengal with ST reservation at colleges like IIEST Sibhpur? please answer ASAP .!

Dear aspirant,
Every year Wbjee exam is taken for admission to various colleges in West Bengal.In which only 5% seats are for other state students and rest of the seats are for west bengal domiciled candidates and for getting in those colleges like Jadavpur University you are required to produce domiciled certificate of west bengal and caste certificate of west bengal. Now coming to your query IIEST Shibpur takes admission through Jee mains and not through Wbjee so for getting admission to IIEST you did not require domicile certificate of west bengal but you require caste certificate.

i am talking for admission through Josaa counselling . i.e. my jee mains rank.
so would i get ST reservation under HOME STATE category in WEST BENGAL if my domicile is of WB but ST certificate of Jharkhand..?

okey so this is me after i got admission in iiest Sibhpur electrical branch
so yes they'll consider your caste certificate even if it's from other state but given that you must have the state of eligibility from that particular institute
like in my case my state of eligibility (from where i've passed 12th) was west bengal but my caste certificate was from jharkhand but i got reservation under st quota in home state !

Girl you don't know the level of relief you gave me with this answer.. Thank you🙂 I'm a drop year student from 2020 and i want to apply for iiest this year and I exactly have this same situation (ST certificate from orissa) and non of my friends had this specific case, to help me out....so after like days and days of digging the internet i found this..😅well.. thanks once again...😇

Hello! I have the same issue, did JOSAA also allow home state quota for NIT Durgapur or they only accepted home state in terms of IIEST? Plz reply...🙏
